Thank you for your interest in the Chief Executive role for the Regulator of Social Housing

Welcome from Bernadette Conroy, Chair

Thank you for your interest in joining the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) at what is an exciting time for us and for the sector we regulate.

Good quality social housing changes lives. It offers stability and opportunity and enables growth in communities that need it most. That’s why it’s vitally important that RSH continues to regulate so that social landlords deliver more and better social homes, to benefit current and future tenants.

RSH has gone through a period of significant change and expansion over recent years to deliver the requirements of the Social Housing (Regulation) Act 2023. We are nearly half-way through our first programme of planned inspections of large social landlords, including local authorities. These integrate our expanded consumer remit, and our economic remit (for housing associations). We are already seeing early signs of positive change.

Our continued focus on the financial viability of housing associations ensures that the conditions are right for ongoing investment by lenders and investors. This allows social landlords to improve existing homes and to build much-needed new homes for the future, supporting the government’s growth agenda.

We are looking for a Chief Executive to lead our engaged, purpose-driven team, to drive change, encourage innovation, and set the direction for the future. The CEO will be the public face of RSH, providing clear and inspirational leadership and vision, and building strong, balanced relationships with our key stakeholders.

If that sounds like you, I hope you’ll take the next step and find out more. We look forward to receiving your application.
